Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for signal classification which makes it possible to improve the accuracy of classification of an acoustic signal as an acoustic signal of a speaker, an event or a scene. The signal classification performed by the apparatus involves determining the observation probability of the signals for acoustic models that each express a specific scene, wherein an observation probability determined for an acoustic model similar to the acoustic model for which the observation probability has been determined is added thereto, with a weighting according to the degree of similarity thereof. The observation probability determined for each acoustic model is converted by this addition processing, and the converted observation probability is used to classify a signal.
