Abstract:
Disclosed is a wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (WDM-PON) system for asymmetric wavelength division multiplexing and reverse-multiplexing. A receiving end of the WDM-PON system, which receives light that is transmitted from a transmitting end comprising a first wavelength division multiplexing/reverse-multiplexing portion, comprises a second wavelength division multiplexing/reverse-multiplexing portion for reverse-multiplexing the light that is received from the transmitting end, wherein a bandwidth of the second wavelength division multiplexing/reverse-multiplexing portion is substantially bigger than the bandwidth of the first wavelength division multiplexing/reverse-multiplexing portion.
