Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an apparatus for estimating an NOx conversion efficiency of an SCR catalyst includes a catalyst degradation module (304) for determining an SCR catalyst degradation factor and a NOx concentration module (308) for determining an SCR catalyst inlet NOx concentration (307) based on an interpretation of at least one NOx detector signal (310). Additionally, the apparatus includes an NH3 concentration module (320) for determining an SCR catalyst inlet NH3 concentration (323), a temperature module (316) for determining an SCR catalyst bed temperature (317), and a space velocity (SV) module (312) for determining an exhaust gas SV (313) for the SCR catalyst. A NOx conversion efficiency module (324) calculates a NOx conversion efficiency value (302) based at least partially on the SCR catalyst degradation factor, the SCR catalyst inlet NOx concentration, the SCR catalyst inlet NH3 concentration, the exhaust gas SV, and the SCR catalyst bed temperature.
