Description:
AN APPARATUS FOR VAGINAL EXERCISE

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[1] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to medical apparatus, and more particularlyto,an apparatus for vaginal exercise.

BACKGROUND

[2] For centuries women suffering from cervical cancer have been facing numerous issues post radiation, such as, including but not limited to, adhesions forming in a woman’ vaginal passage.

[3] Medical practitioners often advice patients to follow-up post radiation and advise to use a vaginal dilator in order to overcome the adhesions. In most cases, post radiation, the patients are provided with a vaginal dilator kit which includes a vaginal dilator and a lubricant, wherein the vaginal dilator is a hard rubber or a latex tube. The vaginal dilator material, while using, causes severe injuries in the vaginal passage, and as condoms are provided as lubricants, there are high chances of condoms getting torn while exercising, thereby causing severe injuries in the vaginal passage.

[4] The latex condoms supplied by government/commercially which a patient uses as a lubricant gets torn easily and creates sever friction while doing exercises. A hard-latex dilator lacksa measuring scale mentioned on it the hard-latex dilator and lacks durability. The vaginal dilator also lacks in measuring the muscle Power of a vaginal passage of the patient for further studies and documentation. In India, due to socio cultural pressure/shyness, women in rural as well as urban areas hesitate to go into a pharmaceutical shop and buy a condom, or does not buy a lubricant because of illiteracy, lack of awareness, and non-availability of product. In addition, silicone vaginal dilators are not easily available in India and are non- affordable.

[5] Therefore, there is a requirement of an apparatus that can overcome the aforementioned issues.

[26] FIG. 1 is a pictorial depiction of an apparatus (100) for vaginal exercise in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The apparatus (100) includes a phallus shaped housing (102).

[27] The apparatus (100) is phallus shaped to enable easy entry of the apparatus(lOO) into a vaginal passage, wherein the apparatus (100) is provided for, including but not limited to, breaking one or more adhesions formed in the vaginal passage, strengthening a plurality of vaginal muscles and for sexual pleasure vaginisum, vaginoplastypatients as treatment.

[28] The phallus shaped housing (102) includes a first section (104), a second section (108), a pushing element (112) and a fastening element (116).

[29] The phallus shaped housing (102) also includes a closable orifice (114) configured to enable filling of a liquid into the phallus shaped housing (102). The liquid includes a plurality of pH-level indicators, an anti-fungal composition, a lubricant and an anaesthetic.

[30] In one embodiment, the phallus shaped housing (102) may includes at least two closable orifices for the first section (104) and the second section (108), respectively, configured to enable filling of the liquid into the first section (104) and the second section (108) of phallus shaped housing (102).

[31] The pH-level indicators are, including but not limited to, a plurality of micro colouring agents which have color changing characteristic when exposed to the vaginal secretions which have specific corresponding pH-level.

[32] The phallus shaped hosing (102) includes a first end (120) and a second end (122), wherein the first end (120) is the first section (104) and the second end (122) is an opening, through which the pushing element (112) is inserted into the phallus shaped housing (102). The pushing element (112) may be, including but not limited to, a plunger rod (not shown in figure) and a plunger tip (not shown in figure).

[33] The plunger rod is provided with a first mark (not shown in figure) and a second mark (not shown in figure). The first mark is provided at a first predefined distance on the plunger rod, wherein the first mark is provided to indicate a first amount of liquid to be stored in the first section (104) of the phallus shaped housing (102).

[34] Similarly, the second mark is provided at a second predefined distance on the plunger rod, wherein the second mark is provided to indicate a second amount of liquid to be stored in the second section (108) of the phallus shaped housing (102).

[35] Further, the first section (104) and the second section (108) is separated by a partitioning element (118), wherein the movement of the plunger tip is limited to the first section (104) only.

[36] The fastening element (116) includes a first operating mode and a second operating mode. The first operating mode is configured to enable the pushing element (112) to discharge liquid. The second operating mode is configured to lock the pushing element (112), thereby enabling movement of the phallus shaped housing. The fastening element (116) may be, including but not limited to, nuts, screws, bolts, washers, inserts and pins.

[37] In the first operating mode, the first section (104)of the phallus shaped housing (102)is configured to be inserted into the vaginal passage of a patient, wherein the apparatus is to be inserted by the patient. As the patient tries to insert the first section (104) into the vaginal passage, the movement of first section (104) is obstructed by the one or more adhesions formed in the vaginal passage.

[38] Furthermore, the first section (104) includes a first set of openings (106) on a first surface of the first section (104). As the one or more adhesions comes in contact with the first section (104), due to the pain endured by the patient upon the contact, the patient pushes the plunger rod, thereby making the plunger rod move from a first position to a second potion, wherein the movement of the plunger rod from the first position to the second position discharges, by the plunger tip, an amount of liquid, via the first set of openings (106) into the vaginal passage, wherein the liquid is stored into the first section (104) via the closable orifice (114). As the liquid has anaesthetic and lubricating properties, the liquid when discharged out of the first set of openings (106) provides localized anaesthetic effect and eases the entry of the apparatus (100) into the vaginal passage without causing any frictions, thereby breaking the one or more adhesions. As the one or more adhesions are broken, a plurality of secretions, including but not limited to, vaginal secretions and blood secretions are released into the vaginal passage, wherein blood is secreted upon breaking of the one or more adhesions. As the liquid includes the plurality of pH-level indicators, the plurality of secretions is noted based on the pH-level of corresponding secretions. When the plurality of micro coloring agents comes in contact with these secretions, the plurality of micro coloring agents changes their color, thereby coating an outer surface of the apparatus, which in turn indicates the exact vaginal passage dilated area to the patient.

[39] The first section (104) is also provided with a measuring scale (124) for analysing a vaginal length, wherein the measuring scale (124) may be calibrated in a standard centimetre scale.

[40] The second section (108) of the phallus shaped housing (102) includes a second set of openings (110) provided on a second surface of the second section (108). The liquid is stored into the second section (108) via the closable orifice (114), wherein the liquid is discharged via the second set of openings (110) corresponding to the force applied on the second section (108) by the contraction of a plurality of vaginal muscles of the patient. As the liquid includes the plurality of pH-level indicators, the plurality of secretions is noted based on the pH-level of corresponding secretions. When the plurality of micro coloring agents comes in a contact with these secretions, the plurality of micro coloring agents changes their color, thereby coating the outer surface of the apparatus (100), which in turn indicates the exact vaginal passage dilated area to the patient.

[41] The contraction power of the plurality of muscles is calculated by:

Wo = Weight of the second section (108) before filling the liquid

Wi = Weight of the second section (108) after filling the liquid

W2 = After repetition of contracting of the plurality of vaginal muscles

W g = Wi- Wo = Weight of liquid filled

W e = W2 - Wo = Weight of remaining liquid in the second section (108) after exercise. W f = W g - W e = Amount of liquid which is discharged in to passage of vagina.

[42] Larger value of“W f ” indicates larger amount of liquid discharged after doing repetition of the exercises, including but not limited to contraction of the plurality of vaginal muscles, for a predefined duration. Hence a stronger contraction could be noted. Every attempt to hold the dilator in vaginal passage will give contraction of surrounding muscle. Repetitions and time duration are noted and can be gradually increased to educate the plurality of vaginalmuscles.

[43] The second section (108) is also provided with the measuring scale (124) for analysing a vaginal length, wherein the measuring scale (124) may be calibrated in the standard centimetre scale.

[44] Therefore, the first operation mode is for purpose of breaking the one or more adhesions formed in the vaginal passage of the patient and for exercising vaginal muscles and/or for performing kegal exercises. Kegal exercises may be defined as pelvic-floor exercise, involves repeatedly contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic floor.

[45] In the second operation mode, the pushing element (112) is fastened using the fastening element (116), thereby locking the movement of the pushing element (112) and enabling the movement of the phallus shaped housing (102) from a first position to a second position. The first position and the second position may represent to and fro movement of the phallus shaped hosing (102) inside the vaginal passage, respectively. Hence making the pushing element (112) into a supporting element, such as, including but not limited to, a handle.

[46] The first section (104) and the second section (108) of the phallus shaped housing (102) includes a plurality of grooves(not shown in figure) provided at a predefined distance on the first surface of the first section (104) and second surface of the second section (108) for inducing pleasure, such as, an orgasm. The plurality of grooves is provided in, including but not limited to, a circular shape.

[47] Further, the phallus shaped housing (102) is fabricated of, including but not limited to, silicone and a chromatic material, wherein in one embodiment, the silicone may be a medical graded silicone. Due to chromic material of the phallus shaped housing (102), the colour of the phallus shaped housing (102) changes when the phallus shaped housing (102) comes in contact with corresponding plurality of secretions. [48] The length of the vaginal passage is noted by the measuring scale (108) present on both the first section (104) and the second section (108), wherein the length of the vaginal passage is determined by the change in colour of the first section (104) and the second section (108).

[49] Further the apparatus includes an oxygen supply unit which is configured to supply oxygen to into the vaginal passage via at least one of the set of openings (106) and the second set of openings (110). The oxygen is supplied into the vaginal passage in order to prevent formation of new adhesions in the vaginal passage. In one embodiment, the oxygen may be supplied via the second end of the phallus shaped device via a hose. In another embodiment, the oxygen may be supplied via the pushing element (112), as the pushing element (112) may be hollow in nature.

[50] The present disclosure provides various advantages, including but not limited to, help a patient get rid of adhesions without causing injuries, to help stiffen/tone up and strengthen the muscles of the patient’s vagina and the apparatus is cost effective, thereby enabling patient from rural area to help get rid of adhesions and strengthen the vaginal muscles.

[51] In addition to the aforementioned advantages, the vaginal exerciser can be available in plurality of sizes depending upon the per vaginal examination and stage of vaginal passage following, including but not limited to vaginal adhesions, virgin oplasty procedures.
