Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of communications and provides an application installation method and a terminal, facilitating to reduce the number of software versions of an ROM image, reduce the workload of developing and maintaining software versions of a mobile phone manufacturer, and facilitating the direct deployment of a terminal to other target shipping markets. The method comprises: the terminal detects a startup operation and is started; if the terminal is started for the first time, information of a target shipping market where the terminal is located is obtained, the information of the target shipping market comprising: any one or more of a country where the terminal is located, an operator where the terminal is located, and a region where the terminal is located; the terminal stores an installation package of a first application and an installation package of a second application; the terminal automatically installs the first application according to the obtained information of the target shipping market and the installation package stored in the terminal, wherein the first application is an application corresponding to the target shipping market; and the terminal deletes the installation package of the second application, wherein the second application is not the application corresponding to the target shipping market.
