Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an application prompting method and device, which belongs to the technical field of computers. The method comprises: detecting whether there is a preset application in a terminal, the preset application being an application that has not been started after installation, or an application that has not been started after update; if it is detected that there is a preset application in the terminal, determining a first desktop page at which an identification of the preset application is displayed; setting the display mode of an indicating point corresponding to the first desktop page in a desktop page indicating area as a first display mode, the first display mode being different from a second display mode, the second display mode being a display mode of an indicating point corresponding to a second desktop page in the desktop page indicating area, the second desktop page being a desktop page that does not include the identification of the preset application. The present disclosure solves the problem of a low activation rate of a preset application and a low utilization rate of a storage space occupied by the preset application resulting from a user forgetting to start the preset application, thereby achieving the effect of improving the activation rate of the application and the utilization rate of the storage space.
