Abstract:
The present invention provides applications of neuraminidase and an inhibitor thereof in myocardial ischemia and myocardial infarction. The myocardial ischemic injury can be alleviated by inhibition of activity of the neuraminidase and the neuraminidase can serve as a target in screening of medicines for prevention, alleviation and/or treatment of myocardial ischemic injury. The inhibitor of the neuraminidase can alleviate the myocardial ischemic injury by lowering the neuraminidase level. The present invention further provides a pharmaceutical preparation, and the pharmaceutical preparation contains the inhibitor of the neuraminidase and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and can be used for lowering the neuraminidase level to alleviate the myocardial ischemic injury.
