Abstract:
A method to find a more suitable appropriate pressure that is safer and with which people implementing a muscle strengthening method do not need to feel anxiety and fear is provided for a method for strengthening muscles by obstructing blood flow. The air pressure in a gas bag of a pressurizing belt is temporarily increased to a pressure higher than a pressure viewed as an appropriate pressure, and then the pressure is gradually released. The pulse wave amplitude is measured in this process, and a maximum pulse wave pressure identification unit 12E identifies the maximum pulse wave pressure that is the pressure of the air in the gas bag when the maximum value of the pulse wave amplitude, which was temporarily increased and then decreased, occurs. The maximum pulse wave pressure identification unit 12E sends the maximum pulse wave pressure data indicating the maximum pulse wave pressure to an appropriate pressure calculation unit 12F. The appropriate pressure calculation unit 12F sets the appropriate pressure to a value obtained by multiplying the maximum pulse wave pressure by a coefficient of 0.85.
