Abstract:
Provided is an aqueous coating composition for coating cans which does not comprise a resin produced using bisphenol A or a raw material including bisphenol A, has excellent coating storage stability and is capable of forming a coating film having excellent water resistance, corrosion resistance, and workability. The aqueous coating composition for coating cans comprises core-shell type acrylic resin particles (A) in which a core part is crosslinked. The glass transition temperature of acrylic resin that composes a shell part is in a range of 35 to 105°C, the glass transition temperature of the acrylic resin that composes the core part is in a range of -10 to 25°C, the mass of the core part is in a range of 10 to 90 mass% based on the total mass of the core part and shell part, and the core-shell type acrylic resin particles (A) have an acid group.
