The purpose of the present invention is to provide an aqueous dispersion which is capable of forming a coating film that exhibits excellent adhesion to a base and excellent water resistance. The present invention is an aqueous dispersion which is characterized by containing fluorine-containing composite polymer particles that are formed of (A) a polymer which contains a repeating unit derived from vinylidene fluoride and (B) a polymer which contains a repeating unit derived from at least one acrylic monomer that is selected from the group consisting of acrylic acids, acrylic acid esters, methacrylic acids and methacrylic acid esters. The aqueous dispersion is also characterized by having an acid value of 3 mgKOH/g or more.
