Abstract:
The present invention is an aqueous paint additive including a polyether-modified siloxane represented by average composition formula (1) of (R3SiO1/2)a(R2R'SiO1/2)a'(R2SiO2/2)b(RR' SiO2/2)b'(RSiO3/2)c(SiO4/2)d. R' is an organic group selected from a group represented by -CqH2q-O-(C2H4O)e(C3H6O)f-R1. The R' group satisfies formula (I) of 5 ≤ {(molecular weight of -C2H4O- portion)/(molecular weight of the entirety of polyether-modified siloxane)}x20≤10, and formula (II) of {(molecular weight of -C3H6O- moiety))/(molecular weight of -C2H4O- moiety)}≤1.0. Due to said feature, it is possible to provide an aqueous paint additive and an aqueous paint composition, which have a low environmental load and impart excellent antifouling performance.
