Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aqueous pigment dispersion which is an aqueous dispersion of polyester resin particles containing a pigment, wherein the polyester resin is one formed using a feed-monomer alcohol ingredient satisfying the following requirements 1 and 2. Requirement 1: The alcohol ingredient has a content of an alkylene oxide adduct (I) of a specific bisphenol A of 7 mol% or lower. Requirement 2: The alcohol ingredient has a content of a compound (II) having two secondary hydroxy groups of 45 mol% or higher. This aqueous pigment dispersion has excellent storage stability. An aqueous ink for ink-jet recording which comprises this aqueous pigment dispersion has excellent delivery stability after long-term standing and can give prints having excellent abrasion resistance.
