Abstract:
An aqueous resin composition for lithium ion secondary battery binders, which contains core-shell particles (A), each of which has a core part formed of a polymer (a1) and a shell part formed of a polymer (a2), and an aqueous medium (B). This aqueous resin composition for lithium ion secondary battery binders is characterized in that: the monomer starting materials of the polymer (a1) contain 45-95.5% by mass of methyl methacrylate and 4-40% by mass of a (meth)acrylate having an alkyl group with 4 or more carbon atoms; and the monomer starting materials of the polymer (a2) contain 60% by mass or more of styrene. Since this aqueous resin composition has excellent film forming properties at low temperatures and excellent adhesion to an electrode and to a porous body that constitutes a separator, this aqueous resin composition is suitable for use as a binder.
