Abstract:
An aqueous urethane resin composition comprising 1) an aqueous urethane resin having a thermal gelation temperature of 40 to 90 °C and 2) an association type thickener; a method for preparing a fiber sheet composite using the resin composition, which comprises impregnating or coating b) a fiber material substrate with a) the above aqueous urethane resin composition and c) subjecting the treated substrate to heat sensitive gelation; and a synthetic leather which is prepared by the method. The aqueous urethane resin composition is stable at ordinary temperatures, exhibits sharp heat sensitivity in gelation with steam, and in particular, when used in the impregnation or coating processing of a fiber substrate, can be incorporated homogeneously into the substrate with no migration and form a uniform microporous layer after drying, and further provides the resultant fiber sheet composite with the same sense as that of a solvent-based composition, that is, a sense of fulfillment and firmness, and thus, is suitable particularly for use in a synthetic leather. .
