Title:
ARABIDOPSIS-THALIANA-DERIVEDMYB96 GENE AND A USE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/074165
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a method for increasing epicuticular wax biosynthesis in plants by genetically modifying, in plant cells, a recombinant vector comprising an Arabidopsis-thaliana-derived MYB96 (myb domain protein 96) gene; a method for producing a genetically modified plant having increased epicuticular wax biosynthesis, using the recombinant vector comprising the Arabidopsis-thaliana-derived MYB96 gene; a genetically modified plant having increased epicuticular wax biosynthesis produced by means of the method, and seeds thereof; a method for producing a biofuel by using epicuticular wax, comprising a step of isolating and purifying epicuticular wax from the plant; and a composition for increasing epicuticular wax biosynthesis in plants comprising the MYB96 gene.
