Abstract:
The present invention relates to an arc extinguishing device and a circuit breaker using the arc extinguishing device. The arc extinguishing device comprises at least two arc extinguishing grid plates which are provided at intervals in parallel along the longitudinal direction. The dimension of at least one of the arc extinguishing grid plates in the height direction is greater than the dimension of an adjacent arc extinguishing grid plate, on at least one side thereof, in the height direction. By means of such a structure, the electric arc directed from the circuit breaker to the arc distinguishing device is rapidly elongated in the arc extinguishing grid plate, and is cut by the arc extinguishing grid plate to form a plurality of short electric arcs. The arc extinguishing grid plate, which has smaller dimension in the height direction, can limit the height and make the arc not too high, and thus the electric arc is concentrated within the height range of small arc extinguishing grid plates, thereby facilitating the control and cutting of the electric arc; and a large dimensioned metal grid plate is favorable to the heat dissipation of the electric arc.
