Abstract:
Disclosed are an arc extinguishing unit and an air circuit breaker comprising same. The arc extinguishing unit, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a gassing material that generates molecules for extinguishing an arc when heat generated by the arc is applied thereto. Accordingly, the arc can be extinguished quickly. In addition, the arc extinguishing unit has a mechanically and thermally high strength side plate by means of comprising an outer support plate including glass fiber, thereby making it possible to prevent burnout caused by arc heat.
