Abstract:
Disclosed are an arc extinguishing unit and an air circuit breaker comprising same. The present invention provides an arc extinguishing unit comprising: side panels spaced apart from each other and facing each other; grids positioned between the side panels and spaced apart from one another, and each connected to the side panels; and a grid cover covering the grids and positioned above the grids, wherein the grids include grid legs extending down from both width-wise ends thereof so as to allow formation of an induced magnetic field by an arc that is generated as a fixed contact and a moving contact are separating from each other.
