Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to improve bead appearance at the starting parts for welding in forward and reverse feeding arc welding wherein feeding speed is switched alternately between a forward feed period and a reverse feed period. Provided is an arc start control method for forward and reverse feeding arc welding that carries out forward and reverse feed control for switching a welding wire feed speed Fw alternately between a forward feed period and a reverse feed period and performs welding by generating a short period and an arc period, wherein a pulse period Tp for electrification a plurality of times with a pulse current during an arc start time is provided, and forward and reverse feed control is started with a forward feed period for welding wire thereafter. A forward feed speed Fp is established for the welding wire such that the arc period continues during the pulse period Tp. In addition, during the pulse period Tp, the forward feed speed Fp varies on the basis of the length of time for the pulse period Tp and/or welding voltage Vw value.
