Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a novel and improved arc-suppressing device capable of reducing the consumption of power by a current-limiting circuit used for suppressing an arc occurring when the power is shut down, so as to reduce the consumption of power by a semiconductor when power is shut down. [Solution] Provided is the arc-suppressing device comprising at least one current-limiting circuit installed in parallel to a circuit breaker switching between supplying and shutting-down the power from a power source, wherein: if the power from the power source is to be supplied to the load via a shut-down machine, the current-limiting circuit blocks the current from the power source; and if the supply of the power from the power source to the load is to be shut-down by the shut-down machine, the current-limiting circuit blocks the current from the power source when the voltage which arises due to a difference in potential that occurs between contacting points of the shut-down machine at shut-down time reaches a predetermined voltage or higher.
