Abstract:
A footwear system utilizing a configuration of components or sub-assembles is provided to promote energy-return features during human gait. The footwear system configuration utilizes structural arches and cantilever beams formed and/or fabricated with structural materials allowing for storage and release of kinetic energy produced during gait motions. The energy transfer is enhanced by a forward propulsion component during gait while providing cushioning via elastic deformation of the various semi-rigid components comprising the system.
