Abstract:
An area gauge consisting of a transfer portion composed of a transfer screw (1), an adjusting screw (7), and a regulator member (22) provided with a swivel ring (25) via a shaft, a measuring portion composed of a gauge body (16), a gauge gear (29), an area value display disc (39), a gear disc (44) on which a vernier ring (43) is fixed, a scale disc (40), and a rotary disc (54) and a stationary plate which are fixed to the gauge body (16), and a tracer portion composed of a fork (68), and a tracer rod (70) and a lever (74). The guide gear (29), which is mounted rigidly on a centrifugal shaft (27) engaged with the gauge body (16), is turned as it meshes with the gear disc (44). Consequently, the swivel ring (25) is turned in the same direction as a tracer needle (P), so that the gauge body turns in the direction which is opposite to the direction in which the swivel ring (25) is turned, to determine an area accurately. This area gauge is capable of not only determining the area of an object of an arbitrary shape but also dividing an area of an arbitrary value at an arbitrary ratio.
