Abstract:
In order to reduce the amount of decoding processing, prevent an increase in the number of contexts associated with a coding unit (CU) division identifier while maintaining coding efficiency, and simplify a derivation process for a context index associated with a CU division identifier, this arithmetic decoding device is equipped with a context index derivation means that derives a context index specifying a context, an arithmetic coding/decoding means that references a bypass flag and the context specified by the context index, and decodes from encoded data a Bin string comprising one or more Bins, and a CU division identifier decoding means that decodes a syntax value for a CU division identifier associated with a subject CU from the Bin string. This arithmetic decoding device is characterized in that the context index derivation means derives the context index associated with the CU division identifier on the basis of the division depth of the subject CU and the division depth of one or more decoded adjacent CUs.
