A arm angle sensor device for detecting a swing angle of an arm is attached to a construction machine in which the base end portion of the arm is pivoted at the tip portion of a boom so as to be swingable in a forward/backward direction, where protection is provided to the arm angle sensor device and costs are kept low. A sensor body (23) of a arm angle sensor device (16) is assembled to a sensor installation hole (26) provided in a third boom side-plate (18L) with part of the sensor body (23) being received in the sensor installation hole (26). A link member (24) for transmitting a swing angle of an arm (9) to the sensor body (23) is installed such that one end of the link member (24) is connected to the sensor body (23) and the other end to an arm side-plate (20L), where the link member (24) is positioned between the third boom side-plate (18L) and the arm side-plate (20L).
