Title:
ARM MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/005499
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a structure for an arm mechanism for supporting a structure for lighting or the like. The structure of a conventional arm mechanism involved a minimum of two parallel arms, however, there was a risk of injury to a finger that was caught when changing the angle of the arm, and the maximum changeable angle of the arm was roughly 90 degrees. Also, the mechanism required for preventing the arm angle from changing naturally was complicated. In order to solve these issues and to allow the angle of an arm to be changed in a maximum range of roughly 180 degrees, this arm mechanism is constructed such that when the angle of the arm is changed, the angular displacement of the arm relative to the arm-supporting side is converted into a rotary movement of a shaft which is provided inside the arm, and a structure provided at an extremity is allowed to correct its angle by itself as a result of the rotary movement. Also, a simple mechanism for preventing the shaft from rotating is added. The principal application of the invention is for all arm mechanisms that need to maintain a constant relative angle between the structure provided at the extremity and the arm-supporting side.
