Abstract:
This high-frequency array coil is designed for use in an MRI apparatus and provided with a plurality of coil units having a plurality of RF reception coils, each of which is provided with a conductor loop and adjusted to receive magnetic resonance signals. The high-frequency array coil is further provided with: an extended conductor comprising a part of the conductor loop of each of the RF reception coils of the plurality of coil units and a conductor connecting said loop parts; and an extended conductor control circuit for adjusting the reception frequency of the extended conductor. The extended conductor is placed on an object to be imaged in a helically wound state, and the direction of a magnetic field detected by the extended conductor intersects with the direction of a magnetic field detected by the RF reception coils, which constitute the coil units. This makes it possible to enhance the detection efficiency of the RF coils and acquire a high SNR image.
