Abstract:
Provided is an article accumulation apparatus that feeds articles, using a plurality of conveyance units, to a rotating belt mechanism for accumulating articles, and that can minimize malfunction when articles are being fed to the rotating belt mechanism. An article accumulation apparatus (10) comprises a rotating belt mechanism (200) and a plurality of conveyance units (100). The rotating belt mechanism includes: a plurality of pulleys (220); a belt (210) which is bridged over the pulleys and which is conveyed in a conveyance direction; and a plurality of plates (230) which extend from the outer surface (212) of the belt in a direction orthogonal to the belt outer surface and which are arranged along the conveyance direction of the belt. Accommodation spaces (S) are formed between the plates adjacent to one another in the belt conveyance direction. The conveyance units feed articles (P) into the accommodation spaces in the rotating belt mechanism. The plurality of conveyance units are associated with respectively different ones of the pulleys and feed articles into the accommodation spaces between the plates which are widen apart by the corresponding pulleys.
