Abstract:
The item of clothing (10) consists of a length of material (12) for being worn by a user. The length has an outer face (12a) facing, in use, the outside, and an inner face (12b) operatively facing the user. The length has a pre-marked region (14) which is situated in a substantially central position and is adapted to be at least partially opened, so that, in use, it can be crossed, by the head and/or arms of the user. The pre-marked region is defined by a plurality of sections (14a-d), which are pre-marked, in particular through ironing, and are joined to one another. The sections are defined by a point-a-jour and are configured to be at least partially trimmed in a customizable manner, so as to define the size of such aperture.

Claims:
CLAIMS

1. Item of clothing (10) consisting of a length of material (12) for being worn by a user; said length having an outer face (12a) facing, in use, the outside, and an inner face (12b) operatively facing the user;

said item of clothing being characterized in that said length has a pre-marked region (14) which is situated in a substantially central position and is adapted to be at least partially trimmed and opened, so as to provide, in use, an aperture to be crossed, in use, by the head and/or arms of the user;

said pre-marked region comprising a plurality of sections (14a-d) which are joined to one another, which are defined by a point-a-jour working (16), and which are configured to be at least partially trimmed in a customizable manner, so as to define the size of such aperture .

2. Item of clothing according to claim 1, wherein said plurality of sections comprises a longitudinal section (14a) and a pair of side sections (14b, 14c), which branch off crosswise from said longitudinal section.

3. Item of clothing according to claim 2, wherein said side sections branch off from an end (0) of said longitudinal section.

4. Item of clothing according to claim 2 or 3, wherein said longitudinal section substantially extends along a central axis (X-X) of said length.

5. Item of clothing according to any one of the claims from 2 to 4, wherein said longitudinal section extends up to the perimeter (15) of said length.

6. Item of clothing according to any one of the claims from 2 to 5, wherein said side sections are substantially perpendicular to said longitudinal section.

7. Item of clothing according to claim 6, wherein said side sections are aligned with one another.

8. Item of clothing according to any one of the claims from 2 to 5, wherein said side sections are divergent from one another .

9. Item of clothing according to claim 8, wherein said side sections are curved or substantially straight, so as to define an angle between them.

10. Item of clothing according to any one of the claims from 2 to 9, wherein said side sections are joined to a transverse section (14d) which is substantially oriented along a transverse axis (Y-Y) relative to said longitudinal section .

11. Item of clothing according to claim 10, wherein said side sections end in said transverse section.

12. Item of clothing according to claim 10 or 11, wherein said transverse section is oriented in a direction that is substantially orthogonal relative to said longitudinal section.

13. Method for manufacturing an item of clothing, comprising the step of manufacturing a length of fabric (12), for being worn by a user and having an outer face (12a), facing, in use, the outside, and an inner face (12b), operatively facing the user;

said method being characterized in that it further comprises the step of providing to said length a point-a- jour working (16) which can be at least partially trimmed in a customizable manner, thus creating a plurality of sections (14a-d) which are joined to one another so as to create a pre-marked region (14) to be at least partially opened, so as to be crossed, in use, by the head and/or arms of a user; said pre-marked region being situated in a substantially central position of said length.

14. Method according to claim 13, further comprising the step of folding or ironing said length along folding lines (X-X, Y-Y) designed to indicate the sections on which said point-a-jour working is subsequently provided.

15. Method according to claim 13 or 14, wherein at least part of said point-a-jour working provided to said length is trimmed.

DESCRIPTION

Technical field

The invention relates to an item of clothing and to a method for the manufacturing thereof.

Technological background

More specifically, the invention deals with light items of clothing, such as for example tunic dresses or caftans, to be worn, in particular, though not exclusively, in the summer.

These items of clothing are manufactured by means of a traditional manufacturing method. Apertures and slits are usually cut in the material in a differentiated manner so as to obtain apertures and slits with different dimensions based on the sizes of the users that are going to wear the item of clothing.

Summary of the invention

An object of the invention is to provide an item of clothing, which is capable of solving the drawbacks of the prior art and which, at the same time, can be produced in a simple and economic fashion.

According to the invention, this and other objects are reached by means of an item of clothing and a method having the features set forth in the appended independent claims.

The appended claims are an integral part of the technical teaches provided in the following detailed description concerning the invention. In particular, the appended dependent claims define some preferred embodiments of the invention and describe optional technical features.

Further features and advantages of the invention will be best understood upon perusal of the following detailed description, which is provided by way of example and is not limiting, with reference, in particular, to the accompanying drawings, which are briefly described below. Figure 1 is a plan view from the top of an item of clothing manufactured according to an explanatory embodiment of the invention. This figure shows the face of the item of clothing facing the outside.

Figure 2 is an enlarged plan view from the top of a portion of an item of clothing manufactured according to another explanatory embodiment of the invention, wherein part of the point-a-jour working was trimmed.

Figure 3 is a view similar to the one of figure 1, which shows a plan view from the top of an item of clothing manufactured according to a further explanatory embodiment of the invention.

Figure 4 is a view similar to the ones of figures 1 and 3, which shows a plan view from the top of an item of clothing manufactured according to a further explanatory embodiment of the invention. In the aforesaid figure, a broken line represents a plurality of explanatory alternatives of sections making up a central region, which is adapted to define an aperture of the item of clothing, which is going to be crossed by the head and/or by the arms of the user.

Detailed description of the invention

With reference to figure 1, number 10 indicates an item of clothing manufactured according to an explanatory embodiment of the invention.

In particular, though not exclusively, the item of clothing is a caftan or a tunic dress made of a light fabric for being worn by a user.

The item of clothing 10 consists of a length 12 of material for being worn by a user.

Length 12 has an outer face 12a adapted to face, in use, the outside, and an inner face 12b opposite outer face 12a and adapted to operatively face the user. In particular, when it is worn by the user, length 12 is adapted to be folded in the direction of the width along a transverse axis Y-Y, in a middle portion substantially arranged in the middle of its length.

As shown by way of example in figure 1, the transverse axis Y-Y ideally divides outer face 12a into a front portion 13a, which, in use, is arranged at the front of the user wearing the item of clothing 10, and a rear portion 13b, which, in use, is arranged at the back of the user.

Furthermore, length 12 has a pre-marked region 14, which is arranged in a substantially central position. In the embodiment shown herein, as discussed more in detail below, pre-marked region 14 is defined by a point-a-jour working and is subsequently going to be trimmed, so that, in use, it can be crossed by the head of the user. Hence, pre-marked region 14, when it is opened, acts like an aperture for the head of the user wearing the item of clothing 10.

In the embodiment shown in figure 1, pre-marked region

14 is substantially arranged in the area of the transverse axis Y-Y. In particular, pre-marked region 14 also extends on the side of front portion 13a.

Pre-marked region 14 comprises a plurality of sections 14a, 14b and 14c, which are joined to one another, are defined by a point-a-jour working and are configured to be trimmed in a customizable manner. In particular, when pre- marked region 14 is partially trimmed and remains open, sections 14a, 14b, 14c create portions of an aperture adapted to be crossed by the head of a user.

More in detail, the dimensions of the above-mentioned aperture are defined as a function of the trimmed extension of the sections 14a, 14b, 14c.

According to figure 2, in particular, the point-a-jour working is defined, for example, by a plurality of stitches and holes 16 alternated in succession. As it is known in the field, holes 16 can have different dimensions.

As it is known in the field, the point-a-jour working usually requires said stitches and holes 16 to be obtained by means of a machine provided with a needle and/or a punch, which perforates and sews the material, creating an alternated succession of stitches and holes 16 in the area of the pre-marked regions. According to the embodiment of the invention, the needle and/or punch acts upon the material creating the stitches and holes 16 that define the point-a-jour working of sections 14a-d of pre-marked region 14. Since the machines designed to carry out this kind of processing are widely known in the sewing filed, they are not further described in detail hereinafter.

By way of non-limiting example, as already mentioned above, figure 2 schematically shows a pre-marked region 14 showing the point-a-jour working, which, in this figure, is partially trimmed.

Thanks to these technical features, pre-marked region 14 present in the item of clothing 10 can be manufactured in a standardized manner, without changing the shape and the dimensions thereof, substantially for all users' sizes and with a significant saving in terms of manufacturing costs . On the one hand, in case users are given the chance to customize pre-marked region 14, each user is capable of trimming (for instance, by simply cutting with the help of scissors or similar tools) the point-a-jour working defining sections 14a, 14b and 14c in the way that is deemed to be the most suitable for the user based on his/her needs and in order to best suit his/her features.

More in detail, owing to the above, users can increase the dimensions of the opening made in pre-marked region 14 by trimming a greater number of stitches and holes of the alternated succession of stitches and holes 16 defining sections 14a, 14b, 14c. By so doing, the cutting or trimming through alternated succession of stitches and holes 16 in sections 14a, 14b, 14c defines more or less extended slits, which allow users to customize the aperture made in the item of clothing 10, thus obtaining a neckline or a vent .

On the other hand, in case the manufacturer customizes the item of clothing 10, the manufacturer can trim the point-a-jour working, thus shaping the slits defining the aperture obtained from pre-marked region 14. By so doing, manufacturing times are optimized and the manufacturing of the item of clothing 10, as a whole, is simplified.

Preferably, the plurality of sections comprises a longitudinal section 14a and a pair of side sections 14b, 14c, which branch off crosswise from said longitudinal section .

More preferably, side sections 14b, 14c branch off from an end of longitudinal section 14a.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, longitudinal section 14a substantially extends along a middle axis X-X of the length 12, in particular on the side of front portion 13a of outer face 12a.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, the longitudinal section 14a extends up to the perimeter of length 12.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, sections

14a, 14b, 14c are substantially straight.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, sections 14a, 14b, 14c converge towards the same point 0, which substantially is the common central end of these sections.

In particular, though not necessarily, side sections

14c, 14c are substantially perpendicular to longitudinal section 14a. More in particular, side sections 14b, 14c are aligned with one another, in other words they are the prolongation of one another.

In particular, side sections 14b and 14c are substantially arranged along transverse axis Y-Y.

Preferably, for an observer watching figure 1, pre- marked region 14 made up of sections 14a, 14b and 14c is substantially T-shaped.

With reference to figure 1, again, length 12 has a plurality of further pre-marked regions 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d, which comprise point-a-jour workings, similar to the ones described above for sections 14a-c. In the embodiment shown herein, the further pre-marked regions comprise a first pair of further pre-marked regions 18a and 18b arranged on front portion 13a, in particular on opposite sides relative to middle axis X-X.

Furthermore, the further pre-marked regions advantageously comprise a second pair of further pre-marked regions 18c and 18d, which are arranged on the rear portion 13b.

The pair of pre-marked regions 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d can be obtained by folding length 12 around axis Y-Y and by creating, in a first step, on the other side relative to middle axis X-X, pre-marked regions 18b and 18c.

Pre-marked regions 18a, 18b, 18c and 18d are adapted, at first, to be at least partially trimmed and, then, to be crossed in sequence by a belt (not shown), which allows the item of clothing 10 to be fastened around the waist of the user wearing it.

By way of example, manufacturers or users can adjust longitudinal section 14a by trimming the point-a-jour working (for instance, by going through one or more stitches and holes 16), starting from point 0 towards perimeter 15.

With reference to figure 3, number 10 indicates, again, a further explanatory embodiment of the invention.

Details and elements that are similar to those of the embodiment described above - or fulfill a similar function - are associated with the same alphanumeric references. For the sake of brevity, the description of these details and elements will not be repeated below, but reference is made to what was previously explained in the description above.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, side sections 14b, 14c are divergent from one another and branch off from longitudinal section 14a.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, side sections 14b, 14c define an angle between them, for instance an acute angle.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, the pre- marked region further comprises a transverse section 14d, which is oriented in a transverse direction relative to the longitudinal section 14a. For example, transverse section 14d is substantially parallel to transverse axis Y-Y and, more in particular, it is substantially arranged along transverse axis Y-Y.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, side sections 14b, 14c are joined to transverse section 14d.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, side sections 14b, 14c are joined end in transverse section 14d.

In particular, side sections 14b, 14c end in a middle area of transverse section 14d. More in particular, side sections 14b, 14c end in two points B and C, respectively, which are arranged in the aforesaid middle area of the transverse section and are spaced apart from one another.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, transverse section 14d is oriented in a direction that is substantially orthogonal relative to longitudinal section 14a.

With reference to figure 4, number 10 indicates, again, a further explanatory embodiment of the invention.

In this case, again, details and elements that are similar to those of the embodiments described above - or fulfill a similar function - are associated with the same alphanumeric references. For the sake of brevity, the description of these details and elements will not be repeated below, but reference is made to what was previously explained in the description above.

In the embodiment shown by way of example, further and different variants of side sections 14b, 14c, which can be crated in the item of clothing 10, are shown with different broken lines .

For example, a simple broken line shows a further embodiment in which each one of side sections 14b and 14c has a substantially L-shaped development branching off from longitudinal section 14a and ending in transverse section 14d.

Finally, a dotted line indicates a variant of side sections 14b and 14c in which each one of them has a substantially curved development ending in transverse section 14.

Hereinafter an explanatory embodiment, according to the invention, of a method for manufacturing an item of clothing is described.

The method comprises the operating step of manufacturing a length of fabric 12, for being worn by a user and having an outer face 12a, facing, in use, the outside, and an inner face 12b, operatively facing the user .

Preferably, the method further comprises the operating step of folding or ironing length 12 along folding lines X- X, Y-Y designed to indicate the portions on which a point- a-jour working is subsequently provided.

Furthermore, the method comprises the step of providing to said length 12 a point-a-jour working which can be trimmed in a customizable manner, thus creating a plurality of pre-marked sections 14a-d which are joined to one another so as to create a pre-marked region 14 to be at least partially opened, so as to be crossed, in use, by the head and/or arms of the user; pre-marked region 14 being situated in a substantially central position of length 12.

The point-a-jour working is obtained as described above, for example it is defined by the aforesaid plurality of stitches and holes 16 in an alternated succession.

In the embodiment shown in figure 1, the folding lines substantially coincide with middle axis X-X and transverse axis Y-Y.

Preferably, according to an explanatory embodiment of the invention, after having obtained the point-a-jour working on length 12, at least part of the point-a-jour working is trimmed in a customizable manner (for instance, by trimming through a small or large number of stitches and holes of the alternated succession of stitches and holes 16) by the manufacturer and/or user.

Naturally, the principle of the invention being set forth, embodiments and implementation details can be widely changed relative to what described above and shown in the drawings as a mere way of non-limiting example, without in this way going beyond the scope of protection provided by the accompanying claims.

For example, perimeter 15 shown in figure 1 has a substantially rectangular shape. However, this shape is not limiting, for perimeter 15 can also have different shapes (by mere way of example, in further variants, the perimeter can also be oval, square, hexagonal, octagonal) .
