Provided is an article conveying device with which the occurrence of dust can be prevented and a worker is less likely to be injured at a worker-attended transfer point. The article conveying device is provided with a reciprocating moving body that is configured to move reciprocally along a movement pathway that extends between a worker-attended transfer point (P) and a worker-unattended transfer point (Q); a cover body (22) that provides partial coverage above the reciprocating moving body that moves across the entire length of the transfer pathway; and an article carrying body (20) that is connected to the reciprocating moving body at a connecting part, which extends upward from the reciprocating moving body and passes vertically through a slit (24) formed in the cover member, and moves in the direction of the movement pathway above the cover member. The slit is formed such that the connecting part remains in a contactless state with the cover member when the reciprocating moving body moves along the transfer pathway. A flexible elastic cover part (22S) which can be deformed elastically is provided at an end formation part (22E) which forms an end part of the slit on the worker-attended transfer point side in the cover body.
