Abstract:
Disclosed is a technology to specify each two-dimensional code area that corresponds to target articles for detection, among two-dimensional codes associated with objects included in images. Based on edge images generated from obtained images (original images), candidate regions among these edge images are extracted, a determination is made about whether or not a characteristic pattern is included in each of the corresponding regions in the original images that correspond to these extracted candidate regions, and then the two-dimensional code regions are detected from among the original images. Color judgment is performed on each cell region in the detected two-dimensional code regions and coded information is identified based on the color judgment results for each cell region. In addition, a judgment is made whether or not target articles for detection exist among the articles corresponding to the identified information and, if they do, the two-dimensional code regions that correspond to those articles in the original image are highlighted and the highlighted image is displayed.
