An article conveyance/delivery method is provided for delivering, diagonally backward to a conveyance direction, an article being conveyed by an article conveyer. In the method, the article is delivered by a delivering body or delivered to an article receiving body on the side of the article conveyer. Furthermore, an article delivery speed can be reduced. The article being conveyed can be also automatically discriminated by standard by a discriminating section, and the discriminated article can be delivered to a side to a delivery direction by standard. The article conveyance/delivery apparatus is to be used for implementing such method. The article conveyer is provided with many article placing bodies and an endless carrier having such article placing bodies mounted thereon. The article is delivered diagonally backward to the conveyance direction by the article placing body. The article being conveyed is automatically discriminated by a discriminating section by standard, and the discriminated article can be delivered to the side to the conveyance direction by standard.
