Abstract:
Articles (3) are placed on and conveyed on article supports (2) which are swung forwards in the direction of motion of a chain. An article support (2), selected on the basis of attribute data, is swung downwards and backwards in the direction of motion of a chain, offsetting or reducing the chain conveyance speed, and, in the vicinity of the lowest point of the swing trajectory, the article (3) is discharged and transferred to a transfer conveyance (4). The article (3) is placed on the top surface of a belt-form member (6) configured in approximately the form of a conveyor belt, and only the belt-form member (6b) on the bottom side is pulled out from the bottom of the article (3). In conjunction with this, the folded-back tip portion (6c) of the belt-form member is retracted in the retraction direction and the belt-form member (6) is withdrawn from below the article (3), discharging the same. The article (3) is placed straddling rotating supports (7a, 7b) arranged opposite each other front and back in the conveyance direction, and the paired rotating supports (7a, 7b) are driven to rotate so as to open mutually in a substantially horizontal plane, and the article is discharged substantially horizontally.
