This articulated robot includes a plurality of types of joint unit and a control unit. The joint units each comprise: a fixed body; a fixed body side mechanical connecting portion provided on the fixed body for mechanical connection to another unit; a displacement body linked to the fixed body by means of a linking portion; a displacement body side mechanical connecting portion provided on the displacement body for mechanical connection to the other unit; and a drive portion for causing the displacement body to be driven and displaced relative to the fixed body. The control unit includes a control portion for controlling each drive portion and a control unit mechanical connecting portion for mechanical connection to another unit. The displacement of the displacement body side mechanical connecting portion relative to the fixed body side mechanical connecting portion differs depending on the type of the joint unit. The fixed body side mechanical connecting portion has a first connecting structure, and the displacement body side mechanical connecting portion and the control unit mechanical connecting portion each have a second connecting structure. The first connecting structure and the second connecting structure can be connected to one another.
