Abstract:
This artificial photosynthesis module comprises a hydrogen generating electrode having a plurality of first electrode portions that are arranged in a row but apart from each other by a certain interval, and an oxygen generating electrode having a plurality of second electrode portions that are, when viewed from the hydrogen generating electrode side with respect to a diaphragm, each arranged in the interval between the first electrode portions of the hydrogen generating electrode. A first photocatalyst layer of at least one of the first electrode portions of the hydrogen generating electrode, or a second photocatalyst layer of at least one of the second electrode portions of the oxygen generating electrode, is tilted with respect to the flow direction of an aqueous electrolytic solution. Alternatively, a protrusion is provided on the surface of the first photocatalyst layer of at least one of the first electrode portions of the hydrogen generating electrode, or on the surface of the second photocatalyst layer of at least one of the second electrode portions of the oxygen generating electrode.
