Abstract:
The present technology relates to an artificial satellite and a ground system that make it possible to efficiently retain data within the artificial satellite. The artificial satellite comprises: an image processing unit that executes a feature generation process for generating features of a captured satellite image; a storage unit that retains feature data obtained as a result of the feature generation process; and a communication unit that transmits the feature data to a ground station when communication is available with the ground station. The ground system comprises an image processing unit that generates complemented data using feature data acquired from the artificial satellite representing features of a satellite image of the ground captured by the artificial satellite, and data for complementation. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a satellite image processing system for processing a satellite image.
