Abstract:
An asphalt finisher 100 comprises: a tractor 1; a hopper 2 placed on the front side of the tractor 1 and receiving a pavement material; a conveyor CV for transporting the pavement material in the hopper 2 to the rear side of the tractor 1; a screw SC for spreading out the pavement material transported by the conveyor CV at the rear side of the tractor 1; and a screed 3 for leveling the pavement material spread out by the screw SC at the rear side of the screw SC. The asphalt finisher 100 further comprises a space recognition device CM for monitoring the condition in the hopper 2, and a controller 50 for moving the hopper 2 on the basis of the output of the space recognition device CM.
