Description:
Assembly for the display of products The present invention relates to an assembly for the safe display of various suspendible products, the said assembly comprising a fastening plane and suspension members protruding from the fastening plane and attachable to it, on which products can be suspended, where the outermost end of each suspension member is provided with an eyelet part, and where above each suspension member is arranged a longitudinally movable elongated locking member, which extends outwards from the fastening plane, essentially in the longitudinal direction of the suspension member, and which locking member can be brought into attachment with the eyelet part of the suspension member in such a way that the product is locked between the suspension member and the locking member.

Various articles of merchandise and the like are often displayed suspended from hook-or peg-like members on setting racks from where the customer can choose the product he or she wants. Particularly in the case of more valuable products, such an assembly involves a risk of shoplifting, to reduce which products have been placed, for example, in lockable widowed cabinets. When dealing in spectacles, for example, vertically operating clamps are available, which are unattractive, unreliable and inconvenient in use. One object of the present invention is to provide a relatively simple solution, which makes possible the suspension of products in a lockable fashion on suspension members for substantial minimising the risk of shoplifting.

To achieve the aims of the invention, the assembly relating to the invention is characterised in that the locking member is a peg-like member which extends through an opening made in the fastening plane ; that the assembly further comprises a guiding part, which has at least one guiding opening in the area between the fastening plane and the eyelet part for moving the locking member in a guided manner through the said at least one guiding

opening into the eyelet part ; that between the guiding part and the locking member are arranged spring members which exert a force on the locking member that tends to move it in a direction towards the fastening plane in order to unlock the locking for removing the suspended products ; and that the assembly comprises means for retaining the locking members against the force of the spring members in the first position where they remain in attachment with the eyelet part.

Advantages of the assembly relating to the invention are, among others, a relatively simple, and thus reliable, locking of a product to a suspension member, which minimises the risk of shoplifting, yet without making it essentially more difficult to look at the products when they are mounted in place on the suspension members. The solution relating to the invention is suitable for a variety of products, such as, for example, spectacles and personal stereo.

The invention is described in greater detail in the following, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which : Figure 1 shows a diagrammatic perspective view of an embodiment of the assembly relating to the invention in a locked state, Figure 2 shows the embodiment according to Figure 1 as a side view, Figures 3-4 show views corresponding to Figures 1 and 2 in an opened state, Figure 5 shows an enlarged view of a part comprised in the assembly relating to the invention, and Figure 6 shows a diagrammatic side view of an arrangement for moving the locking members.

The assembly according to Figures 1 and 2 comprises a fastening plane 1, which is provided with perforations 6, in which perforations the members included in the fastening assembly relating to the invention can be attached.

The fastening assembly comprises elongated suspension members 2, which may vary in shape. At the end of each suspension member is formed an eyelet part, which is, in this embodiment, a hole 5 made at the end of the suspension member. Above each suspension member 2 is arranged a locking member 8, which extends essentially outwards from the fastening plane 1 in the longitudinal direction of the suspension member, and which is intended for co-operation with the eyelet part 5 of the said suspension member 2. The assembly further comprises a guiding part 10, which has two guiding openings 9a and 9b in the embodiment shown, in the areas between the fastening plane 1 and the eyelet part 5, by means of which guiding openings the locking member 8 can be moved in a guided fashion into attachment with the eyelet part 5 of the suspension member. Between the guiding part 10 and the locking member 8 are in addition arranged spring members 4 which exert a force on the locking means 8 that tends to move it in a direction towards the fastening plane 1 in order to unlock the locking for removing the suspended products.

In the embodiment shown, the guiding part 10 and the suspension member 2 are formed as an integrated structure, as seen best in Figure 5, the said structure being provided with fastening members 7, which have attachment parts 7a that can be mounted in the holes 6 of the fastening plane 1 for fastening the said structure removably on the fastening plane t.

The assembly also comprises means 11 for retaining the locking member 8 against the force of the spring members 4 in the first position where they remain in attachment with the eyelet part 5. Figures 3 and 4 show views corresponding to Figures 1 and 2, where the locking member 8 has been moved to an open position through the effect of the spring means 4, in

which position the products suspended on the suspension member 2 can be removed from it.

There may be one or several fastening member pairs on the fastening plane 1 and, in addition to them, the fastening plane may also comprise normal suspension members without locking members.

The eyelet part at the end of the suspension member 2 may be, for example, a downwards opening, slot-like part instead of the hole described above.

In the embodiment described, the fastening plane is depicted as a planar panel, but it may naturally have, for example, a curvilinear surface.

Figure 6 shows a solution where the locking members 8 are supported on a panel 11 arranged behind the fastening plane 1 and loaded by springs 4. The panel 11 can be moved back and forth with respect to the fastening plane 1, for example, by means of screws 23, which are connected to an electric motor 22 via belt pulleys 25 and a cogged belt 24. By driving the electric motor in one direction, the panel 11 can be moved, together with the locking members 8, towards the rear part of the fastening plane 1, against the biasing force of the spring 4, and by driving the motor in the opposite direction, the panel 11 moves away from the rear part of the fastening plane 1, whereby the spring 4 pushes the locking members 8 towards the fastening plane 1, keeping it in contact against the panel t1. The locking members 8 move in accordance with the direction of rotation of the motor 22 into the hole 5 at the end of corresponding suspension members 2, thus preventing the removal of the product in the suspension member 2, or move away from the hole 5, thus allowing the removal of the product from the suspension member 2. The panel 11 may also be arranged to be moved, for example, by means of a mechanical swinging arm instead of the electric motor drive.
