Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hula hoop comprising a plurality of arc frames (110), a slider (120), a locking protrusion (122), and an elastic band (130). Each of the arc frames (110) has a thin arc-shaped sliding base (111) curved in a lengthwise direction, and a pair of guide ribs (112) inwardly bent in a widthwise direction along the length of the sliding base (111), and opposite each other. The slider (120) is guided by guide ribs (112) and fitted to the adjacent arc frames (110) at the same time to interconnect the adjacent arc frames (110) into a circular configuration. The slider fitted to the arc frames (110) slides along the arc frames (110) formed into the circular configuration to enable the arc frames (110) to smoothly retract/extend inwardly and outwardly in a radial direction. The locking protrusion (122) is disposed at both lengthwise ends of the slider (120). The elastic bands (130) are fixed sequentially at the locking protrusions (122) in adjacent arc frames (110) to provide elastic force, and apply a centripetal force to the slider (120) inwardly in a radial direction such that the arc frames (110) and the slider (120) can be retracted inwardly in a radial direction in the event where the arc frames (110) and the slider (120) are extended outwardly in a radial direction by a centrifugal force. The thus-configured hula hoop of the present invention can attract user attention, and enable the users to assemble the hula hoop by themselves.
