Provided is a production method for an atomization unit for use in a non-burning type flavor inhaler, the method comprising: a preparation step for preparing a liquid holding member and a heater that is formed from a linear or a belt-shaped heating element connecting a pair of electrodes fixed to a base member so as to be separated from each other, and that has a stretch part which is stretchable; a pressing step for pressing a projection surface formed on the liquid holding member against the stretch part of the heater such that the projection direction of the projection surface is orthogonal to the separation direction of the pair of electrodes, and pushing the projection surface along the projection direction of the projection surface relatively into the stretch part, and thereby changing the state of the stretch part from the original form state to a stretched state of being stretched along the projection surface of the liquid holding member; and a fixing step for fixing the projection surface in a state of being pressed against the stretch part and thereby maintaining the stretched state of the stretch part. With the stretched state of the stretch part being maintained, the stretch part presses the projection surface by restoration force of the stretch part acting along the direction of stretching the stretch part.
