Description:
SPECIFICATION TITLE

Attachable type protractor for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a protractor for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level utili¬ zing gravity of earth due to the law of gravitation of Newton, and more particularly to a protector for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level in which liquid is filled within a hermetically sealed transparent container having semispherical inner sur¬ face so as a single bubble to be formed and wherein a ball which makes always perpendicular state toward gravity direction of earth together with said single bubble is contained within said hermetically sealed container so that perpendicularity and horizontal level can be correctly measured, and even besides slant to frontward or rearward of measuring subject can be measured.

BACKGROUND ART

A conventionally known proctractor for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level is, as shown in FIG. 6, made in such a manner that two transparent single bubble tubes 30, 31 are fixed to a bady so as to be perpendicularly crossed, however there has been

problem, that this is not only for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level respectively through two transparant single bubble tubes 30, 31 arranged on said body 32 so as to be perpencularly crossed by putting the protractor on measuring sub¬ ject, but also slant to frontward and rearward of measuring subject can not be measured.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a protrator for measuring perpendicularity

10 and horizontal level for solving such ' conventional problems.

Another object of the present invention is to pro¬ vide a protractor for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level in which liquid is filled within a - - hermetically sealed transparent container having se ispherical inner surface so as a single bubble to be formed and wherein a ball which makes always perpendicular state toward gravity direction of earth together with said single bubble is contained within

20 said hermetically sealed container so that perpendic¬ ularity and horizontal level can be correctly measured, and even besides slant to frontward and rearward of measuring subject can be measured.

The forgoing and other objects as well as advantages

of the present invention will become clear by follow¬ ing description of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

For a better understanding of the invention, and to show how the same may be carried out into effect, reference will now be made, by way of example, with respect to the accompanying drawings, in which : FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view taken along line I - I of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view taken along line II - II of FIG. 1, FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line III - III of FIG. 1, FIG. 5 is a magnified cross sectional view for showing auxiliary indicating device shown in FIG. 4, and FIG. 6 is a perspective view of conventional proctractor for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level. Throughout the drawings, like reference numerals and symbols are used for desingnating like or equiva¬ lent parts or portions, for simplicity of illustration

and explanation.

BEST MODE OF CARRING OUT OF THE INVENTION

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompany¬ ing drawings as followings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention, and wherein hermetically sealed trans¬ parent container 2 for measuring perpendicularity and horizontal level of measuring subject is con¬ tained at the middle of case 1, and adjusting levers 3, 3 1 of sucking attachment board which will be hereinafter described and for attahing and detaching the case 1 on top surface, front surface or side surface of measuring subject are pivotably mounted by pin 4 within the interior of both sides of the case 1, and auxiliary measuring device 5 capable of measuring frontward or rearward slant of measuring subject is inserted and fixed at a side of front surface of the case 1.

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view taken along line I - I of FIG. 1, wherein connecting state of adjust- i n( 3 levers 3, 3' with said sucking attachment board 6, 6 1 together with structure of hermetically sealed transparent container 2 are shown.

The hermetically sealed transparent container 2

is a cylindrical form in external appearance and its top of inner surface is formed in semispherically cuved surface 7, and it is inserted and fixed into the interior of stepped wall 9 protruded at bottom periphery of cylindrical tube bo-dy 8 formed to the

5 case 1.

Liquid 11 is filled into said hermetically sealed transparent contriner 2 so as single bubble 10 to be formed, and ball 12 capable of measuring vertical and horizontal state of measuring subject by making always vertical state toward gravity direction of earth is 0 contained together with said single bubble 10 therein, and its bottom is closed by lit 2'.

For said liquid 11, it is desirable to use colored antifreezing solution in order to decrease shock according to the collision of the ball 12 and the

jc hermetically sealed transparent container 2 and to expect preciseness of measurement, and for said ball 12, article which is made from glass, ceramic or synthetic resin being of not metal should be used so as not to receive influence of magnetic material

20 which may be located around the measuring subject.

Upper bar portions 13, 13" of the sucking attach¬ ment boards 6, 6' are pivotably fixed by pin 4 to • oth wall portions 14, 14' of said adjusting levers 3, 3' respectively, and the upper bar portions 13,

13' of said sucking attachment boards 6, 6" are guided by holes 16, 16' penetrated to bottom wall 15 of the case respectively.

Both side wall portions 14, 14' of the adjusting levers 3, 3' are formed by curved line portion 17 and linear line portion 18, and in a state that the adjusting levers 3, 3 1 are depressed, the linear line portion 18 becomes contacted with the bottom wall of the case 1 and accordingly the sucking attachment boards 6, 6' are closely attached with the measuring subject, and when the adjusting levers 3, 3' are lifted up, the curved line portion 17 is contacted with the bottom wall 15 of the case 1 whereby the upper bar portions 13, 13' of the sucking attachment boards 6, 6' become bent and lifted up and becoming to be detached from the state attached with the measuring subject.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show an auxiliary measuring device in detail.

The auxiliary measuring device 5 is constructed in such a manner that indicating needle 23 perforated with a hole 22 at the center thereof is pivotably inserted to supporting projection 21 having a taperec head 20 protruded at center of cylindrical case 19, and transparent cover plate 24 is mounted on front surface of said cylindrical case 19, and since the

incicating needle 23 is pivotably inserted to the supporting projection 21, it always points the gravity direction of the earth, and accordingly slant to frontward or rearward of the measuring subject can be measured. And, angle displaying scale 25, 26 are displayed around circumferentical edge of the hermetically sealed transparent container 2 and auxiliary meas¬ ured.

And, angle displaying scale 25, 26 are displayed around circumferentical edge of the hermetically sealed transparent container 2 and auxiliary measu¬ ring device 5.

The present invention constructed as these has advantages that not only vertical and horizontal state of the measuring subject can be correctly measured by the ball 12 and single bubble 10 con¬ tained within the hermetically sealed transparent container 2 attached to the case 1, but also even the slant to forward and rearward of the measuring subject can also be measured by utilizing the aux¬ iliary measuring advice 5.

It will be appreciated that the present invention is not restricted to the particular embodiment that has been described hereinbefore, and that variations and modifications may be made therein without depart-

ing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims and equivalents there-
