CLAIMS

What is claimed is:

1. Means for the mounting of an object on top of a base object which is adjacent to a wall, having space between the object and the base object, where the means is comprised of:

a) Object support;

b) Base object support which rests on the base object, and firmly connected to the object support; and

c) A flat fin firmly connected to the object support and base object support, that is lodged between the base object and the wall.

2. The means described in claim 1, wherein the flat fin includes a spring like add on that firmly holds it in the space between the wall and the base object.

3. The means described in claim 1, where the base object is a tray and the base object is toilet tank.

4. The means described in claim 1, where the base object is a shelf and the base object is a desk.

Description:
ATTACHMENT MEANS FOR MOUNTING SHELVES ON

TOILET TANK

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention generally relates to the field of attachment means, and in particular to attachment means for mounting shelves to toilet tank.

BACKGROUND ART

[0002] Modern home toilets, as well as many public toilets, share the same assembly structure. A bowl attached to the floor or the wall, above which sits the toilet tank. The space above the toilet tank is mostly unusable. Some place toilet paper rolls over it, but the space there is limited. Of course, given the right amount of space, there are plenty of other materials most people like to place above the toilet. Starting with candles for scent candles, to cleaning chemicals, to wet ones. The list goes on and on.

[0003] Alas, the ability to expand the shelf space right above the toilet tank is limited and often costly. A simple internet search will show that when looking for toilet shelves, the result shows massive wooden or metallic constructs that encapsulate the entire toilet. These are expansive, massive and are not right for any toilet room.

[0004] US Pat. Publication No. US 2013/0087083 by Martinez, called "Toilet Shelf discloses a self- leveling pad comprised of a granular weighted pouch. The pouch is attached to the bottom shelf surface.

[0005] US Pat. No. 2,062,742 by Davis, called "Tank Top Tray" discloses a flexible rubber tray mounted directly on the toilet tank cover. The tray, by reason of its flexibility, conforms to the irregular or sloping surface found in most toilet tanks. [0006] In the inventions described above, the accessory, such as a tray, is directly mounted on the toilet tank cover. However, in most modern toilet tanks the flushing control is located on the top of the toilet tank cover. Thus the proposed solutions are not applicable. There is a need for a universal method for attaching accessories to the toilet tank without the need to use neither screws nor glue. Such an accessory can be easily installed and easily removed.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0007] The present invention is comprised of an mounting means uniquely designed to be stably placed on a toilet tank. The construct can be made out of any material that is strong enough and can hold the required weight. One embodiment described here is of a plastic single shelf.

[0008] The invention relies on a unique shaping of a leg. It is a vertical piece with a horizontal fin connected to it. On top of a single leg, or a number of these legs, several apparatuses can be connected (e.g. shelf, toilet paper dispenser and more). The leg is inserted behind the toilet tank in such a way as to allow the wide fin to sit clearly on top of the tank. The structure is than supported both by the wall behind the toilet tank, and the two fins that sit on top of that tank. This allows the entire construct to be stable on top of the tank with no required installation.

[0009] The principal object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved means for detachably securing elements on top of a toilet tank.

It is a further object to provide attachment means that does not require the use of screws to secure it. The above and other objects will appear more fully from the following detailed description and drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0010] FIG. 1 presents a perspective view of a tray integrated with the invented mounting means.

[0011] FIG. 2 presents backward view of a tray integrated with the invented mounting means.

[0012] FIG. 3 shows side view of the tray mounted on the toilet tank top using the invented mounting means.

[0013] FIG. 4 shows another use of the invented mounting means for desk top shelf. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0014] The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof.

[0015] Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of an object - a tray, 100 integrated with the invented mounting means. It is comprised of a tray 110 supported by two mounting means, where each mounting means is comprised of an object support - tray support 130 firmly connected to the tray, the support is connected to horizontal tank cover leg 140 - base object support, and both are connected to a vertical tank back support fin 150 that is lodged between the base object - a toilet tank, and the wall. In the tank back support 150, there is a spring like element 152, that holds the back support firmly between the toilet tank and the wall.

[0016] Fig 2 is a back view of the tank top supported tray, indicated by 160 in fig 1. The back support fin 150 is extending from the back of the tray support 130. The spring like element 152 is built as part pf the support fin 150.

[0017] Fig 3 shows is a cross section H-H of fig 2 of the supported tray which includes the toilet tank 320 and the wall 310 to which the toilet tank is attached. Note that the support fin 150 is lodged between the toilet tank and the wall.

[0018] Fig 4 presents another use of the disclosed invention. In the figure, an object - a shelf 420 is mounted on a base object - a desk 410 which is located next to a wall 440. Note that the support fin 150 is inserted between the desk top 410 and the wall 440, preventing the shelf from moving forward on the desk top 410. In this case the shelf support 130 includes an extension 132 on which the shelf 420 is mounted. In this case the mounting means is not an integral part of the mounted object.

[0019] Note that for various objects and base objects plurality of mounting means may be used. The mounting means may be an integral part of the object or a stand-alone unit or units. [0020] What has been described above are just a few possible embodiments of the disclosed innovation. One of ordinary skill in the art may recognize that many further combinations and permutations are possible. Accordingly, the innovation is intended to embrace all such alterations, modifications, and variations that fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
