Abstract:
A video is classified using an audio signal. An audio signal is acquired and for each of a plurality of segments of a prescribed interval included in the acquired audio signal, a segment feature which is a feature related to the frequency distribution of a sound is extracted; the extracted segment feature and a reference segment feature are respectively compared; and a degree of segment similarity which indicates the degree of correlation between the segment feature and the reference segment feature is calculated. Based on the plurality of the degrees of segment similarity calculated for each of the plurality of segments with respect to the acquired audio signal, a composite feature which is a feature related to the plurality of segments is extracted; the extracted composite feature and a reference composite feature are compared; and the audio signal is classified on the basis of that result. Further, the classification result is used in classifying the video.
