Abstract:
Disclosed are an audio playback device having a user interface for allowing a user to more effectively control various functions, and a method for controlling the operation thereof. The audio playback device comprises a processor which acquires function information of the audio playback device, corresponding to a received user input, by using information on mapping between function information of the audio playback device and a user input received on the basis of at least one of at least one wheel area rotatable in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction and at least one touch area, and controls the audio playback device according to the acquired function information of the audio playback device.
