Abstract:
The present invention relates to an audio system and a method for controlling the same. The purpose of the present invention is to provide optimal listening conditions according to the user volume settings and hardware characteristics of an audio system. To this end, the audio system according to the present invention comprises: a signal input unit for receiving an input audio signal; a signal processing unit for applying a variable dynamic range to each range of the input audio signal, applying, to the input audio signal, scaling the magnitude of which corresponds to the reciprocal of a boosting gain determined by a user volume setting, performing tone mapping of the input audio signal by using the boosting gain, compensating the input audio signal by the reciprocal of the scaling, and applying master volume according to the user volume setting; a storage unit for storing parameters used by the signal processing unit to process a signal; and a signal output unit for outputting an audio signal processed by the signal processing unit.
