Abstract:
A method for the treatment of a tumor, comprising administering to a subject a therapeutically effectiveamount of a complex of a heavy element with a polydentate, pyrrole-containing macrocyclic ligandsubstituted with charged chemical groups, wherein said complex is capable of bringing said heavy elementinto close proximity to the nuclear DNA of cells in said tumor, and irradiating said tumor.
