Abstract:
Disclosed are: an austenitic stainless steel having excellent orange peel resistance; and a manufacturing method therefor. In the disclosed austenitic stainless steel, on the basis of the entire thickness of the austenitic stainless steel, the ratio (Gs/Gi) of the average grain size (Gs) of surface grains contained in a first region corresponding to a depth of 10% or less from a surface of the austenitic stainless steel to the average grain size (Gi) of inner grains contained in a second region corresponding to a depth of more than 10% from the surface of the austenitic stainless steel is 0.5 or less. Therefore, the deterioration in surface roughness due to orange peels on a surface of a steel sheet can be prevented even after post-processing of the stainless steel while the grain size is increased to reduce the strength of the austenitic stainless steel; and the costs can be reduced by replacing copper tubes or aluminum tubes, used as air-conditioning refrigerant pipes, with stainless steel tubes.
