Abstract:
This austenitic stainless steel is provided with a chemical composition having, in mass% terms, 0.01–0.15% C, no more than 2.0% Si, no more than 3.0% Mn, 10.0–20.0% Cr, 5.0–13.0% Ni, 0.01–0.30% N, 0–0.5% Nb, 0–0.5% Ti, and 0–0.5% V, with the remainder comprising Fe and impurities. The average crystal grain diameter in the steel is 10 μm or smaller. The difference between the average grating constants dAve. (= {dγ(111) × Iγ(111) + dγ(200) × Iγ(200) + dγ(220) × Iγ(220) + dγ(311) × Iγ(311)} / {Iγ(111) + Iγ(200) + Iγ(220) + Iγ(311)}) of the surface portion and the center portion of the austenite phase is at least 0.010 Å, and the value of the diffraction peak integrated intensity ratio r (= 100 × ΣIγ / ΣIALL) on the surface of the steel is at least 95%.
