Abstract:
This authentication device for capturing images exhibits improved image quality. The authentication device is provided with an image capturing unit and a signal processing unit. The image capturing unit in the authentication device provided with the image capturing unit and the signal processing unit has arranged therein, in the following order from the subject side, a transparent protective layer, a light blocking film provided with a plurality of holes, and image capturing elements provided with photoelectric conversion units in locations corresponding to the plurality of holes. The signal processing unit in the authentication device carries out a prescribed authentication process on the basis of images captured by the image capturing unit.
