An authentication information management system (1) comprising a portable information processing terminal (2), which transmits authentication information to be matched, and an authentication information management server (4). The portable information processing terminal (2) is provided with an activation request unit (12) which transmits account specification information specifying registered authentication information. The authentication information management server (4) is provided with an activation execution unit (22) which associates terminal specification information of the portable information processing terminal (2) with the registered authentication information specified by the received account specification information. In response to the transmission of the authentication information to be matched, an authentication is carried out on the basis of whether the transmitted authentication information to be matched corresponds with the registered authentication information associated with the terminal specification information of the portable information processing terminal (2).
