Abstract:
[Problem] To improve user convenience while strengthening system security in an authentication system that performs user authentication by password collation. [Solution] An authentication system is provided with: a lockout unit that locks out a user ID of a user if the number of times user authentication by a user authentication unit fails reaches or exceeds a prescribed number of times; and a group password request unit that, after a user ID is locked out by the lockout unit, in order to cancel the lockout of said user ID, asks the user to input a group password of a group to which the user of the user ID belongs. If authentication of the group password is successful, the lockout of the user ID is cancelled (step S15), and if authentication of the group password fails, that information is transmitted by communication to another user of the group to which said user belongs (step S20).
